New York Auto Rollover Accident Seriously Injures Occupants

A two-vehicle collision in Cayuga County injured several people recently when a driver went through a stop sign, reports CNYcentral.COM. According to the report, the car versus minivan accident injured all the occupants of the minivan, including head injuries sustained by the front passenger. The identity of the victims and those involved has not been released yet.

The car crash in New York happened in Auburn near the street intersection of Cross Street and Seymour Street when the car failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the minivan as it approached from Seymour Street, Auburn Police said. The minivan then rolled over on the impact of the collision. The passenger traveling in the front seat of the van was in a serious condition following the accident and was airlifted to an area hospital. The other occupants of the minivan were also treated for their injuries at area hospitals. The driver of the car reportedly refused any treatment and has been ticketed for the traffic offense.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that one in four of the approximately 40,000 fatalities that occur each year due to auto accidents nationwide, involve vehicles that overturn and land on their roofs.
