Yonkers Auto Accident Kills Woman
A vehicle breakdown led to a New York car accident that killed 71-year-old Christel Bieroth-Rock of Manhattan on the Saw Mill River Parkway on March 23, 2009. According to this article in The Journal News, Bieroth-Rock was waiting in her stalled 1992 Honda Civic after calling AAA for assistance when her car was rear-ended. The crash occurred minutes after the woman had called AAA, Westchester County police officials said. Bieroth-Rock's Civic had some type of mechanical malfunction. That roadway apparently did not have a shoulder, so Bieroth-Rock waited in her car, the news report said.
